Projects
Over the past year BBCII has been successful in providing weekly online counseling through Village of Hope; partnering with Operation Warm to provide over 150 winter coats for children; partnering with the Dayton Food Bank to expand our food pantry; providing clothing and hygiene products for the women of the local YWCA and women's re-entry program; and providing holiday baskets for families.
Flower Sale
The orders for canna lilies were taken in advance and became available in July. Volunteers helped keep the flowers watered and fertilized using volunteer hours of service. With no overhead we were able to sell 73 plants for $20.00 each and raise $1,465.00 being the largest fundraiser for the year!
Trunk or Treat
The BBCII was joined by some of the staff from the Montgomery County Treasurers office for this event. John McManus, the Montgomery County Treasurer, and staff came to assistance with this community event. 80 children were served; 10 volunteers participated using a combined total of 8.5 hours.
Thanksgiving Baskets Giveaway
Ten baskets valued at $45 each were distributed in 2022. Four volunteers participated providing 19.5 hours of service.
Coat & Shoe Giveaway
The coat and shoe giveaway along with Operation Warm provided 148 coats and 65 pairs of shoes to families in the community. All the coats were gone during the first date scheduled to distribute so the following distribution date was cancelled. 9 volunteers donated 36 hours of service for this project.
Christmas Baskets Giveaway
BBCII gave away 14 baskets valued at $50.00 each in 2022. Six volunteers participated, providing 17 hours of service.
Warrior Princess Holiday Event
BBCII raised a total of $765.00 to be divided between the Women's Prison Ministry and the YWCA. There were hygiene packets created instead making a cash donation to both organizations.
